Villingen-Schwenningen – Rottenburg am Neckar – Ludwigsburg – Heilbronn – Heidelberg – Mannheim

The river Neckar rises near Villingen-Schwenningen and finally flows into the Rhine in Mannheim. Just as the river meanders around the foothills of the Swabian Alb and the vineyards, so does the Neckar Valley Cycle Route.

If you want to cycle the whole distance from the source to the mouth, you can get to know the different facets of the Neckar. Many cities offer themselves for sightseeing. In addition to the large cities such as Mannheim, Heilbronn, and Stuttgart, the small contemplative towns along the Neckar such as Bad Wimpfen and Neckarmühlbach invite you to take a break. The route also impresses with its castles and palaces, which alternately rise along the Neckar.
