Heidelberg offers one of the largest public and free WiFi networks in Germany: Citizens, visitors and tourists, students and business travelers can connect to the “Heidelberg4you” network and surf the Internet at more than 200 locations throughout the city. The city and the University of Heidelberg make the offer possible together with the university data center, Stadtwerke Heidelberg, Heidelberg Marketing and Heidelberg IT Management.

Getting online with just two clicks.

Users are online with just two clicks: Simply select the “Heidelberg4you” WLAN network on the smartphone or tablet in the vicinity of one of the hotspots - for example on the market square, Bismarckplatz, in the swimming pools, on the Neckarwiese or at the main train station. A welcome page then opens, on which the users start the connection to the open network - this establishes access to the Internet. Now all you have to do is agree to the general terms and conditions and off you go.

Once the connection has been established via "Heidelberg4you", the users are automatically connected to the Internet as soon as they are back at one of the Wi-Fi hotspots of the city of Heidelberg and the University of Heidelberg. The “Heidelberg4you” WLAN network is available to all users for an unlimited period of time. The city of Heidelberg is continuously expanding the free WiFi network in the city area.
