[Translate to En:] Selfie am Kornmarkt

Heidelberg offers one of the largest public and free WLAN networks in Germany. At more than 200 locations throughout the city, citizens, visitors, tourists, students and business travelers can connect to the "Heidelberg4you" network and surf the Internet. The city administration and the University of Heidelberg are enabling the service together with the university data center, Stadtwerke Heidelberg, Heidelberg Marketing and Heidelberg IT Management.

Getting online within two clicks

Users are online within only two clicks: Simply select the "Heidelberg4you" WLAN network on the smartphone or tablet in the vicinity of one of the hotspots - for example, at the market square, Bismarckplatz, on the Neckarwiese or at the main station. Afterwards, a welcome page appears on which users start the connection to the open network - this establishes access to the Internet. Finally, just an agreement to the general terms and conditions is neccessary to use the free WLAN.

Once the connection via "Heidelberg4you" has been established, users are automatically connected to the Internet as soon as they are located at one of the WLAN hotspots of the City of Heidelberg and Heidelberg University. The "Heidelberg4you" WLAN network is available to all users for an unlimited period of time. The city of Heidelberg is continuously expanding the free WLAN network in the city area.
