Market Square shines for diversity and unity
Whether it’s the Town Hall, the Hercules Fountain or the Church of the Holy Spirit – on this evening, Heidelberg’s Market Square will shine entirely in pink when the queer community gathers to celebrate Pink Monday together with Christmas market visitors, while the beats of DJane Simoné invite everyone to dance and sing along. At the heart of the event are time spent with friends and acquaintances, good conversations – and of course, the tradition of “seeing and being seen.”
The specially created “Pink Mulled Wine” from the Adam Müller winery will once again be available, as will the limited Pink Monday Christmas mug, featuring the popular Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus designs that have long become collector’s items.
At the community booth on the Market Square, Aidshilfe Heidelberg will present handmade crafts, knitted items, tasty jams, and other gift ideas.
The Church of the Holy Spirit will open its doors in the evening, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. In solidarity with the LGBT+ community, it will shine in bright pink both inside and out. Admission is free. Before the official opening of Pink Monday, an Advent service will be held from 5:00 to 5:45 p.m., with the collection benefiting Aidshilfe Heidelberg.
Pink Monday is made possible and organized by Heidelberg Marketing with the support of the following partners: the Friends’ Association of Aidshilfe Heidelberg, Fahrwerk Ambient Marketing, the Adam Müller Winery, and the Church of the Holy Spirit.
