Philosophengärtchen (Philosopher’s Garden)

Short facts

  • Heidelberg

Sun-drenched natural balcony with an abundance of exotic plants.

From the Theodor Heuss Bridge, you can begin the easy climb up the Philosophenweg to the Philosophengärtchen, which is rewarded with a beautiful view over the city. Here you can rest on one of the benches or on the beautiful lawns and get some fresh air while enjoying the view.

Due to the mild climate along the Philosopher's Walk, many plants from subtropical areas (e.g. almond trees, lemon, and ginkgo trees) thrive here and have become native to the area.
