The German-American Institute (DAI) is a cultural institution dedicated to promoting democracy.

The DAI has long been an established cultural institution not just in and for Heidelberg but also for the whole region. For six decades now it has been and continues to be a center for political, social, and cultural discussion, a place of enlightenment about every aspect of American culture and of cultural exchange.

Their cultural program provides information and entertainment through lectures, discussions, seminars, exhibitions, concerts, literary readings, films, theater performances and much more.

In the library you will find an extensive collection of English-language books, magazines, newspapers, videos, and DVDs. You can also conduct research with up-to-date newspaper and magazine database and receive friendly assistance from experienced staff.

The One World Language School (OWLS) offers a large bandwidth of language courses for children, students and grown-ups, as well as a diversity of intercultural training programs. Furthermore the DAI runs a bilingual international Kindergarten.
