Pfaffengrund

The Heidelberg district of Pfaffengrund is a lively neighborhood in the countryside with around 7,500 residents.

The high proportion of green spaces and their built structure contribute to a high residential quality in the south of the district. The north, on the other hand, is characterized by Heidelberg's largest commercial area with around 170 businesses. Due to its young history, there are no "cultural monuments" in Pfaffengrund like in the city center of Heidelberg. Nevertheless, the terraced houses with large gardens, which were created according to the garden city idea and are still popular today, as well as the extensive green spaces such as the "Josef-Amann-Anlage", "Am Kranichweg" and "Im Heimgarten" and the allotment gardens are worth seeing.
Currently, the energy and future storage facility is being built there. Like an oversized thermos flask, it will store district heating water and make it available again when it is needed for heating.
