Well-lived tradition in the heart of Heidelberg's Old Town
Young and old assemble in honor of St. Martin in the St. Anna-Gasse where the traditional procession starts at 5 pm. Colourful lights and well-known St. Martin's songs delight the Old Town on the way through the main street to the Kornmarkt, where the legend of St. Martin will be performed on stage. The sharing of the coat of St. Martin of Tours is still the epitome of humanity and selfless action. Afterward, tasty St. Martin's sweets will be distributed to the children.
The St. Martin's procession is organized by Heidelberg Marketing in close cooperation with the local traditions committee, supported by the voluntary fire brigade of the Old Town.
