On the hunter’s trail (10230)

Many people who visit Heidelberg, the former capital of the Kurpfalz (Electoral Palatinate), remember the song about the hunter. But who was the legendary disciple of Hubertus? This question is pursued – all across the city – by a courtier of the Prince Elector. There are most amusing stories to tell about the candidates for the title of the famous Kurpfalz hunter: Was it Prince Elector Frederick IV, who once in a while liked to ride across a farmer‘s field when hunting, or even Prince Elector Karl-Theodor – or someone else entirely? In the process, we learn a great deal about the electoral hunting pleasures and vexations.
