Founded in 1988 by Jai Gonzales, Bernhard Fauser, and Wal Mayans.
The ensemble pursues the artistic concept of being on the move between the genres of dance, acrobatics, acting, developing its language, and establishing a new scenic work. UnterwegsTheater - in its endeavour to find new ways - does not shy away from unfamiliar challenges and seeks constant, interdisciplinary dialogue. In its many years of involvement with dance, scenic events, and space, UnterwegsTheater has recognized for itself the importance of "shifting" perception. The conciseness of surprising images, the power of unexpected interpretations of space, and the stringency of temporary actions; are all that mobilize the viewer's imagination and allow for new perspectives and ways of seeing.
The Heidelberg-based, nationally renowned UnterwegsTheater has found a permanent home in the Hebelhalle since October 2010.
