The Kurpfälzisches Museum brings the works of world-famous artists to the Heidelberg Hauptstraße (Main Street) with the help of Heidelberg Marketing. From October 14th, 2018 to February 17th, 2019, the special exhibition "Unwirklichkeiten" (Surrealisms) presents the imaginary as presented in art.
The exhibition on the Kurpfälzisches Museum Heidelberg illustrates the turn towards an art that focuses on perception by comparing works of Romanticism and Modernism. It includes paintings by: Francisco de Goya, Caspar David Friedrich, Edvard Munch, Picasso, and many others. The masterpieces come from museums and private collectors and cover the time from circa 1800 to the modern era. Some of the exhibits are parts of exclusive collections and have never been publicly exhibited before.
