Heidelberg Carnival Parade

Jubilee procession - 175 years of Heidelberg carnival procession

After a break of two years, the big Heidelberg carnival procession through the city centre is back this year.

On 21 February, it starts at 2:11 pm and winds its way from Bergheimer Straße via Bismarckplatz through Hauptstraße. It ends at the Marktplatz, where the big after-move party will take place.

This year it is also a very special parade! On 6 March 1848, the 1st documented carnival procession took place in Heidelberg, which is one of the oldest processions in Germany and will therefore celebrate its 175th anniversary in 2023.

In addition to the carnival clubs organised in the Heidelberg Carnival Committee, many participants from almost all over Germany are expected.
