Philosophenhöhe exclusive apartments

The original plan was to build a hotel and restaurant on the property but over the course of the following century, it underwent numerous, not always advantageous architectural changes. In 1967, the University of Heidelberg moved into the Philosophenhöhe premises as a tenant. In 1981, the owner of the estate, the “Heidelberger Schlossquellbrauerei“ (brewery), put the property up for sale. It was bought by the Heidelberg photographic designer Michael Steinke and his wife who fell in love with its history and architecture. Today, this charming location houses seven luxury units and garages on Heidelberg’s sundrenched slopes overlooking the city.
