Hiking
Marked trails can be taken on Königstuhl and Heiligenberg, Heidelberg`s two most prominent mountains, for a wonderful walk through nature.
Hiking maps are available at the Tourist Information offices in the Town Hall and at the Main Station as well as at bookstores.
The Neckarsteig
Timo Bracht initiates the new
quality hiking trail “Neckarsteig".
The Neckarsteig is a famous hiking trail which is certificated by the German Ramblers’ Association. With an overall length of 126,4 kilometres the route starts in Heidelberg, leads towards Bad Wimpfen and connects nature and culture of the region. The man behind the idea is the world-class triathlete Timo Bracht from Eberbach. The athlete describes the Neckarsteig as a “dream path full of secrets and adventures”.
On 21 April 2012 the hiking trail will be officially opened with a hike.
